A full lighting design and supply concept for a large-format open shopping mall. Four distinct zones. One coherent European approach.

 Retail shops

Track lighting and spotlights with CRI above 90 are used throughout all retail units. Beam angles are specified per zone  15° for focused product highlights, 24° for display shelving, and 36° where broader ambient coverage is needed. The priority is accurate colour rendering and precise light placement. Products should look their best without the ceiling becoming a distraction.

 Mall common areas

Magnetic track lighting and recessed linear fixtures are used across shared walkways and circulation areas. The ceiling design is kept completely clean no exposed hardware, no decorative layering. Light is integrated into the architecture rather than applied on top of it. The result is a calm, uncluttered space that guides movement without visual noise.

Underground parking

LED high bay lighting covers the full parking structure with consistent, reliable output. Motion sensors are integrated throughout  inactive zones dim automatically and return to full brightness within seconds when occupied. This keeps the space safe and fully functional at all times while reducing energy consumption significantly compared to a standard fixed-output system.

Outdoor open areas

All fixtures in exposed outdoor zones are rated IP65  weatherproof, dust-sealed, and built for continuous exterior use. Walkways, plazas and covered entry points are lit with directional outdoor fittings that maintain architectural clarity after dark. The specification is suited to warm climates and high-exposure environments including the Gulf region.

Design approach

This project follows a European lighting design approach  minimal ceiling integration, high technical specification, and light that supports the architecture rather than competing with it. Each zone is treated independently based on function, then unified by a shared visual standard.
